No no no no.... move first two one down, sell the rest for 100 and then leave the #1 for auction and have the highest bidder get the last link on a top position.

Must admit I think the music industry have to wake up and smell the coffee - the good times are over, but in the same way the copyright laws haven't caught up with the internet it will take time for them to as well. It's looking as though the music industry will largely go back to what it was before people could buy music - ie it will be about the performance and the live gigs.

Overall I would have thought this would be better for the consumer in the long run and also the music industry and it will make them strive for excellence with musicians who can actually make music and perform it.

The new channels the internet is developing is also going to be a lot fairer and representative of the way people listen to music and the types of artists want to listen to - yes this does mean the music industry moguls won't be able to shape the industry quite as much as they used to and we might see more older songs in the mix but overall that's probably a good thing and the way it should be!

Fed up with the moaning from the music industry. Really fed up. Actually... I'm downright angry. They are meant to be in a creative industry (albeit at the commercial end) and I can't believe how close-minded, backwards and stupid they are towards new media.

Your point about being able to experiment with music is key, and for me is the single most compelling argument for having free/cheap music on the internet. There is no fixed model as yet, and if the industry want to have a hand in shaping the future they need to stop their goddamn moaning and accept the realities of the situation.
